Winter/Spring Microgreen CSA Membership
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It offers its members a way to buy fresh produce direct from the farmer. By purchasing a CSA membership, members in turn receive a share of the farm’s harvest delivered to their preferred pick-up location each week. This partnership benefits both the farmer and the consumer by providing the farmer with payment prior to the season which helps greatly with startup costs and by guaranteeing the consumer the freshest local produce. A CSA allows farmers and consumers to connect creating community, encouraging transparency, and delivering a rewarding experience for all.
How does it work?
Our CSA has three, 6-week seasons. Members can choose the Early Winter Share, Late Winter Share, or Spring Share. Each week during the CSA, you will receive approximately 4oz of shoots and approximately 2oz of a mix (see below for details about shoots and mixes). Therefore, the total weekly size of each individual share is approximately 6oz of microgreens. A family of 2 to 5 people can enjoy 6oz of microgreens throughout the course of a week. If you are part of a bigger household or you REALLY like microgreens you may want to consider purchasing 2 shares.
The varieties you will receive each week will include a box of shoots (approx. 4oz) and a box of a mix (approx. 2oz). Shoots include pea shoots and sunflower shoots. Our mixes are Mild Mix, Zesty Mix, Spring Mix, Long Life Mix, and Power Mix. The varieties will be rotated through during the course of the CSA so you will not receive the same varieties two weeks in a row. To see what our mixes contain, check the details below. If there are allergy concerns with any varieties we include in our CSA, let us know and we’ll be sure to keep them out of your deliveries.
Mild Mix may contain: pea shoot, sunflower shoot, kale, red cabbage, broccoli, beet, or Swiss chard
Zesty Mix may contain: daikon radish, China rose radish, sango radish, arugula, mustard, red cabbage, or kale
Spring Mix may contain: pea shoot, kale, arugula, mustard, beet, or Swiss chard
Long Life Mix may contain: red Russian kale, blue dwarf kale, broccoli
Power Mix may contain: daikon radish, China rose radish, sango radish
What Does It Cost?
